Purpose of the Home and School
The Home and School exists as an organization that helps in supporting and developing the activities, funding and awareness of the school. We are the parent organization for all clubs and activities that take place within the school. Through our efforts we help to foster community within the school family, help to fund small projects and fill in the gaps in the school budgets when special needs arise. We also help to offset the costs of field trips that the children take as well as cover the entry fees to scholastic competitions that our students participate in.
Definition of Terms:
Back to School Night: All school picnic / pot luck aimed at getting to know the new families and getting reacquainted with the returning families. It gives the children and the families a chance to talk to the new teacher and get their desk and locker organized.
Trunk or Treat: This is an activity that takes place in middle to late October where the children (and Adults) dress up in their Halloween costumes and decorate their vehicle trunks and go trick or treating from car to car. There usually is a prize given off to the vehicle with the best decorated trunk.
Spaghetti Dinner: This is the traditional kick off to Catholic Schools Week. This is another fundraiser for us and takes place in the Assumption Hall.
Catholic Schools Week: A weeklong celebration of Catholic Schools in our city, state and nation. It has inspirational speakers, events and themed days aimed at showing off our OLA PRIDE!
